Best practices for clean inputs and stronger results in Vizcom

Set up your sketches correctly to generate clearer, more controlled, and more detailed outputs.

Using Vizcom Best Practices

These best practices apply when uploading sketches for Render or Refine workflows. Vizcom performs best when your input drawing is clean, readable, and focused. The quality of your sketch directly impacts the clarity, structure, and detail of your result. Use this guide before generating renders to ensure optimal output quality.

Core Principles

1

Keep your sketch clean

  • Clean linework produces cleaner renders.
  • Avoid messy backgrounds, overlapping drawings, or unclear edges.

    Good inputs:
    • Single sketch per canvas
    • High contrast linework
    • Minimal background Avoid:
    • Multiple drawings on one page
    • Textured or cluttered backgrounds
    • Very small sketches
2

Scale for detail

  • Larger sketches generate more detailed outputs.
  • Use the transform tool (M) to scale up your drawing so the product fills the frame.
  • This shifts focus to the object instead of unintended background artifacts.
3

Combine shape with brand DNA

  • Start with your unique form.
  • Use prompting and Drawing Influence to blend in an existing brand’s design language.
  • Suggested workflow:
    1. Create a clear volume from your input sketch.
    2. Introduce brand aesthetics through prompting.
    3. Gradually lower Drawing Influence to merge styles.
    4. Analyze where your form and the brand language intersect most effectively.

Tips & FAQ

If a sketch would be difficult to render cleanly by hand, it will likely be difficult for Vizcom to interpret cleanly as well.

Next Steps

  • Apply Prompting (Legacy) to control materials, setting, and brand direction.
  • Adjust Drawing Influence to explore structure versus stylistic interpretation.
  • Use Modify to refine specific areas after generating a base render.
