Choose the right 3D generation style to balance speed, detail, and design intent for your models. Vizcom lets you generate 3D models from your 2D sketches or renderings in multiple quality modes — so you can quickly visualize ideas, refine mesh quality, or emphasize fine details as needed.

When to use 3D Generation Types

Vizcom’s 3D generation options give you control over how your 2D works are converted into 3D models. Different modes help you prioritize:
  • Speed — when you need rapid 3D previews
  • Clean geometry — when meshes need to be smooth or ready for editing
  • Fine details — when capturing surface intricacies matters
This is useful for designers, product developers, and visualization teams who generate 3D assets from sketches or renders for concept exploration, review, or export.

Outlined Modes

Standard 3D Generation

  • Optimized for speed and quick visualization.
  • Produces a faster, lower-resolution mesh ideal for early ideation and exploring form from multiple angles.

Detailed Smooth

  • Focuses on clean topology with smoother mesh surfaces.
  • Best when you want a base mesh that’s easier to edit in external 3D tools, or when smoothness and surface clarity are priorities.

Detailed Sharp

  • Emphasizes intricate geometry and textural detail directly from your sketch.
  • Ideal when the fidelity of design details matters for evaluation or presentation.

Multiview to 3D Generation

  • Uses multiple visible sketch layers from different angles to improve 3D output control.
  • Select 2–5 visible layers and activate Generate Multiview 3D in the toolbar — the resulting model leverages perspectives from each relation.
  • You can also generate from a layer group, provided it contains 2–5 visible sketches.

Tips & FAQ

To get the most accurate multiview model, imagine your object as a cube and supply sketches that describe all sides consistently.
You can vary design features by generating multiple times — Vizcom’s AI may emphasize different attributes in each output.
Include an existing 3D model as part of your input to anchor one view while varying others.

FAQ

  • Which mode should I use first?
Start with Standard for quick previews, then switch to Detailed Smooth or Detailed Sharp based on how clean or intricate you want your final mesh.
  • Can I mix modes?
You can generate multiple versions from the same sketches to compare different mesh qualities.

Next Steps

  • Learn 2D to 3D generation. See how to take rendered sketches and trigger 3D generation workflows.
  • Experiment with multiview models. Combine multiple sketch angles for more controlled geometry.
  • Export & refine. After generating, export your 3D models for editing in your preferred 3D tools or for AR/print workflows.
